Bluewater Swim Lessons is currently preparing for launch. Join the interest list to receive updates about lesson availability and registration dates.
-
Bluewater Swim Lessons will take place at Forest Golf Club & Inn in Forest, Ontario. There will be an option to have lessons delivered in your own pool in Summer 2027.
-
School-year sessions include eight weekly lessons, each lasting 30 minutes. Your lessons take place on the same day and at the same time each week.
The Our Lessons page lists the 2027 session windows. Your individual lesson dates will depend on the weekly time you choose when registration opens.
Summer lessons will follow a different structure, with formats, dates, and pricing announced separately.
-
Private and semi-private lessons are available for children aged 3 and older, teens, and adults.
Parent & Tot is for children aged 4 months to 3 years, with a parent or caregiver in the water throughout the lesson.
For a child around age 3, contact Alison if you’re unsure whether Parent & Tot or lessons without a caregiver would be the better starting point.
-
Private lessons offer individual attention for one swimmer, with instruction shaped around their comfort, abilities, and goals.
Semi-private lessons are for two swimmers learning together. They work well for siblings or friends with similar swimming abilities and learning needs.
Parent & Tot is a small-group introduction to the water for children aged 4 months to 3 years, with a parent or caregiver participating throughout the lesson. Classes include up to five parent–child pairs.
Not sure which format fits? Email Alison at hello@bluewaterswimlessons.ca for help choosing.
-
Semi-private lessons work best when both swimmers have similar swimming abilities and learning needs. Being siblings does not necessarily mean they will be the right lesson partners.
If you’re unsure, email Alison at hello@bluewaterswimlessons.ca before registering. Share each swimmer’s age, comfort in the water, and previous lesson experience so we can discuss whether learning together would be a good fit.
-
Everyone aged 5 or older entering the water needs a Forest Golf Club & Inn pool membership. Membership is purchased separately through the Club and is not included in lesson fees.
Parent & Tot: the parent or caregiver joining the child in the water needs their own membership.
Children aged 0–4 do not need a membership. Parents, grandparents, and other spectators staying on the pool deck do not need a membership.
Pay-as-you-go and longer-term options are available through the Club’s front desk. Purchase any required membership at least 30 minutes before your first lesson.
-
Bring a swimsuit and towel. We recommend bringing your own well-fitting goggles; Alison also has backup goggles available.
For Parent & Tot, the accompanying parent or caregiver will need a swimsuit and towel too.
If you need a pool membership, purchase it at the Forest Golf Club & Inn front desk at least 30 minutes before your first lesson.

No. Lessons are intended to support swimmers at a variety of stages, from beginners through those working toward more advanced skills.
-
Your child does not need to arrive feeling confident. Lessons are shaped around each swimmer’s starting point, with patient guidance and encouragement as they practise new skills.
Let Alison know about any worries or previous experiences before lessons begin. That helps us choose an appropriate starting point and support your child’s comfort in the water.
